At Cuttlestones, we’re committed to supporting worthy causes that serve our community. This page provides an insight into why we support our chosen charities and our various fundraising events. We also support a number of charities by offering auctioneering services at events like fundraising balls and giving talks on antiques and collectables – please call 01785 714905 if you’d like to find out more.
In 2013, we raised over £8,000 for Katharine House Hospice as out ‘charity of the year’. In 2013, we’re lending our support to another locally-based charity; The Newlife Foundation, with the goal of once again raising in excess of £8,000 for this very worthy cause.
From its headquarters in Cannock, the Newlife Foundation takes action to help disabled and terminally ill children across the UK. Established in 1991, the charity supports all babies and children with significant disabilities, their carers and families; from providing essential nursing care, advice and assistance through to funding research and running campaigns to help raise awareness of the needs of disabled and terminally ill children.
We will be running a series of events and fundraising activities throughout 2013, both at our auction rooms and on-site at Newlife’s Cannock superstore, to help us in our fundraising efforts. Once again, your support is much appreciated. If you’d like to make a donation, please visit http://www.justgiving.de/teams/cuttlestones

Perhaps best known locally for its work to help save the Staffordshire Hoard for the nation, the Art Fund is a national charity aimed at helping museums and galleries buy great works of art of all ages and types. In the past decade it has made grants to Staffordshire organisations including the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, the Staffordshire Record Office and the Wedgwood Museum totalling £352,422 to help toward the purchase and display of items that include the Staffordshire Hoard, paintings and medieval jewellery.
Back in 2010 we hosted a talk with Steve Dean, Principle Archaeologist at Staffordshire County Council, on the Staffordshire Hoard to support the Art Fund in its efforts to save this national treasure and we’ve been keen supporters of the charity ever since...
