Cuttlestones Fine Art Auctioneers of Penkridge have pleasure in announcing an important auction of the principal contents of a local country house.

The auction is to be held on Friday 19th September 2008 at the property, with the location to be announced via the website in due course.

In addition to the sale on the premises, a further auction of the paintings from the house will be held on Wednesday 1st October 2008 at the Moat House Hotel in Acton Trussell.

Included in the sale is the superb Oil on Canvas featured to the right by Thomas Sidney Cooper. Widely regarded as one of the foremost artists of his generation, he excelled in large studies of primarily cattle and sheep. Measuring a substantial 174 x 135 cm the painting is estimated at £30,000 to £40,000.

Entries in the primary sale include a collection of vintage agricultural machinery, period furniture and effects, ceramics, garden statuary, sculpture and vehicles.
