Cuttlestones Auctioneers and Vaulers. Penkridge Auction Rooms

Succeeding in the Downturn Through Investment, Hard Work and Determination

Auctioneers & Valuers Cuttletones of Penkridge is celebrating one of its best sales to date and Managing Director Ben Gamble puts this success down to a combination of hard work and investment:
We’re living in challenging times where nothing can be taken for granted and we are striving to be the best in all areas for all our clients, vendors and buyers".

A major part of this effort is coming through reinvestment in the business; Cuttlestones has recently introduced - at no small cost - live internet bidding for its fine art sales, as Ben explains:
"The whole sale is now broadcast live on the internet via a camera and microphone set up in the saleroom, so no matter where you are in the world you can watch, listen and bid on any item in the sale, making us a truly international auction house. We have already received ‘live’ bids from Germany, Holland, America and Australia to name but a few, which is good news not only for buyers but for sellers, who are delighted at reaching such a wide and varied audience. This, in turn, is being reflected in a real difference in the prices that are being achieved in the saleroom.

Cuttlestones believes working with local businesses and people is also key part in the development. The company’s dynamic website is being given an overhaul – re-designed, developed and managed by the Stafford Website Company to improve the services it offers clients, an investment that’s already proving its worth.

But Ben insists “It’s no good investing in all this technology without having the service to back it up. I am proud to be backed by a hard working, customer focused team which has helped us build a truly enviable reputation for providing quality, personal customer service - something that we are making every effort to maintain. We’re determined not to rest on our laurels but to seek new ways to improve and develop the business every day.

Cuttlestones’ next fine art sale is on 27th November and, with entries now being invited, there are already some interesting items that have been submitted for sale including an exciting collection of equestrian items that includes Worcester figures, jewellery and rare original racing silks worn and signed by star jockey Frankie Dettori.
