PENKRIDGE AUCTION ROOMS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENTAs of Monday 27th August 2007 the Salerooms on Pinfold Lane, Penkridge will be under the new ownership of long standing employee Ben Gamble. Ben has worked for the auction house for 15 years and has recently been given the opportunity to become the sole proprietor of the business, which will go by the name of Cuttlestones Ltd. Ben says “I am looking forward to continuing the good work of the last five years; with a focus on customer service and an increased use of technology I hope to encourage old and new buyers and sellers to the Sale Room, so they can see for themselves the benefits of buying and selling through an Auction.” Cuttlestones Auctioneers will continue to provide a full range of valuation services for probate, insurance and family division on behalf of the county’s solicitors as well as for the general public.House clearances are undertaken to suit the clients’ requirements, ranging from the clearance of selected items to a complete clearance, which can include the cleaning of the property . Their ever popular Auctions will of course continue, with their Antique sales where buyers can pick up some fantastic antique and modern furniture as well as clocks, paintings, jewellery, fine china and ceramics. Every Wednesday on market day there is a general sale in the auction rooms selling good quality used tools, white goods, electrical items, ceramics and the usual mix of Victorian and modern furniture. Ben continues: “The auctions are a great place to sell your goods, because it is a convenient way of selling everything in one go and realising the best market price. We are promising our sellers that they will be assured quick, prompt payment terms and regular communication.” The company name Cuttlestones stems from Saxon times when UK counties were divided into Hundreds and Penkridge was at the centre of the Cuttlestone Hundred. We thought it appropriate to keep a local historical link. The former owners of the Penkridge based auction house, Richard Winterton Auctioneers, continue to go from strength to strength with their Burton Saleroom and their recently acquired Lichfield Saleroom. The first sale for the new business will be the Antique Sale, to be held on Monday 3rd September 2007, at 11:30. Viewing will be held on the previous Friday afternoon, 31st August from 3pm to 6pm.
