Cuttlestones Auctioneers regularly sees great Wolverhampton Wanderers items pass through its sale room – and its Specialist Collectors’ Sale this Friday, 5th July is no exception. Yet another piece of classic Wolves history is set to go under the hammer - in the shape of an extensive collection of late 1920s photographs and postcards.
Taken from the era where the Wanderers won promotion from the old third tier of English Football in 1923-24, and subsequently competed to win promotion to the elite First Division in 1931-32, this lot is a goldmine of annotated photographs. It also features several signed postcards from notable players such as Harry Lees and Stan Fazackerley, offering a unique glimpse into an important period in Wolves' history, and the precursor to the historic era-defining teams of the 40s and 50s.
This assortment represents an unmissable opportunity for any avid Wolves collector, and the lot will come up for sale this Friday 5th July, at Cuttlestones’ Specialist Collectors’ Sale held at Wolverhampton Auction Rooms. The fully illustrated catalogue is available online via www.cuttlestones.co.uk and viewing will take place from 10am – 7pm this Thursday 4th July and on the morning of the sale.
