LORD HORATIO NELSON INTEREST - A HALLMARKED SILVER MOUNTED D.B. FLINTLOCK TAP-ACTION SWORD-PISTOL BY H.W. MORTIMER OF LONDON 1805-06, the tapered fullered blade double-edged to the point, the pistol with spiral fluted barrels of burnished steel, the plain breeches struck with London proof marks, the engraved box-lock action decorated to both sides with typical rococco designs, the pistol signed to one side and fitted with engraved blued tap-lever on the left, the chequered walnut grip with hallmarked silver cap pommel cast chased with a demon mask, silver knuckleguard with central decorative moulding, the blued steel trigger-guard engraved with a rococco bouquet, the original leather covered wooden scabbard tooled to the lower half and retaining its silver locklet, missing the steel, shell-guard and chape, L 84.5 cm

A PAIR OF PERCUSSION MUFF OR POCKET PISTOLS WITH GERMAN SILVER FRAMES, each with a finely figured walnut chequered butt and silver eschutcheon, each frame well engraved with a cock and barrel muzzle. The drop down triggers with integral safety catch, contained in the original mahogany baize lined case together with a small powder flask and bullet mould stamped 'Mortimer'.

A FINE PAIR OF BRASS BARRELLED FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS PISTOLS BY H W MORTIMER, the brass barrels formed in two stages bearing proof marks and stamped 'London', moulded belled muzzles, the signed locks with bevelled edges, walnut bag shaped butts, the trigger guard with inset pineapple finial and horn-tipped wooden ramrods, contained in their original mahogany fitted case, baize lined with small flask and accesories, L 25.5 cm¦Note - This style of pistol was favoured by Naval Officers in the late 18th early 19th century.
